Elizabeth Wenk
Principal
Elizabeth Wenk, principal, has over twenty years of communications and policy experience, having worked on Capitol Hill and on various congressional campaigns. She joined Burness in September 2007 and manages a portfolio of work related to children’s health and public health. She works with her team to develop and execute multi-faceted media advocacy and policymaker engagement campaigns and serves as a lead trainer related to media, messaging and policymaker outreach. Key clients include the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Voices for Healthy Kids, the Low Income Investment Fund and ChangeLab Solutions.
Before coming to Burness, Elizabeth worked for U.S. Congressman Mike Castle of Delaware in many capacities, most recently as deputy chief of staff and senior health policy advisor. She led his efforts in writing and passing legislation to expand the current federal stem cell policy. Previously, Elizabeth worked for Senator Olympia Snowe of Maine as her communications director.
Elizabeth received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware and her master’s degree in political management from the George Washington University. Elizabeth is the mother of four awesome kids (3 daughters and a son) and in her free time enjoys running, hiking, watching her kids play sports and coaching Girls on the Run.
