Alex Field
Vice President and Co-Director, Creative
Alex is Vice President and Co-Director of the Creative team, where he leads a group dedicated to crafting thoughtful, innovative online strategies that create impact and advance social change. He joined Burness in 2006 with a background in non-profit, public health communications, and expertise in digital media, online strategy, and website development.
Across global and domestic projects at Burness, Alex and the Creative team provide comprehensive digital communications support, helping nonprofits harness the power of blogs, social networks, video, and storytelling to amplify their voice online. Alex also leads major website initiatives, including award-winning sites for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s County Health Rankings and Commission to Build a Healthier America, and advises dozens of Burness clients on how to use the web to measurably advance their causes.
Prior to joining Burness, Alex served as a communications assistant for Active Living by Design and The Sports Philanthropy Project, both national programs of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. He has twice served as a guest lecturer on digital media communications at the Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies’ Masters Program in Public Relations and Corporate Communications. A native of North Carolina, Alex received a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and lives in New York City.
