Transforming the Medical Payment System

Work with The National Commission on Physician Payment Reform

Health care spending in the United States is unsustainable, the return on investment is generally poor, and the way physicians are paid contributes substantially to the high cost of health care. In 2012, The Society of General Internal Medicine convened The National Commission on Physician Payment to recommend new ways to pay physicians that will ultimately improve patient care and rein in costs.

With the use of bold color and typography, we packaged the Commission’s findings, supporting data, and recommendations into this report, which was released at a briefing for policymakers and their staff on Capitol Hill.
